According to this analysis of the 2008 US Department of Labor job data, we can identify the ten highest paying career paths. While it’s an interesting and worthwhile list, I think we should point out that the numbers they list are for the highest paying positions within those career paths and not the average salary of all the jobs in that career path. In other words, the data only reflects the best career paths in terms of *potential* earnings, not *likely* earnings.
With that being pointed out, the list is still interesting and useful. Especially for someone who is driven to get to the top and who’s number one criteria is salary:
1. Health Care Career Path
2. Business & Management Career Path
3. Law / Legal Career Path
4. Aviation Career Path
5. Architecture & Engineering Career Paths
6. Physical Sciences Career Path
7. Education Career Path
8. Computer & Mathematical Science Career Paths
9. Finance & Accounting Career Path
10. Graphic Design & Marketing Career Path

Another fantastic article. Healthcare is the best. My richest friends (well the ones who didnt’ inherit) are doctors, dentists and I have a doctor-turned-lawyer who specializes in personal injury lawsuits and also represents hospitals.
