15. McLobster
Shovel some lobster meat and lettuce into a hotdog bun, squirt some mysterious sauce on top and, hey presto, you’ve got a McLobster. But while said shellfish product might taste okay, marketing high-end seafood in a fast food hamburger chain is a recipe for disaster.
One major problem is that customers aren’t willing to shell out (sorry!) six bucks for one lonely sandwich when they could get more burgers and fries instead. So if you fancy giving a McLobster a go, you may have to make a trip over the border. See, they’re only found in Canadian McDonald’s outlets, albeit with seasonal appearances in Maine – and this is one fishy feast that’s unlikely to be introduced nationwide any time soon.
