Of all advertising campaigns, few are more dreary and detestable than those selling insurance. People simply don’t want to think about it – and who can blame them? This naturally makes advertising a tough sell for insurance companies; but in 2007, Nationwide Insurance took on the challenge with panache and style. The result was this 12-story-high billboard, which effectively communicated their message with humor and flair: “Life comes at you fast!”
Attached to the imposing Atlas Building near the company’s international headquarters, the ad had a prominent place in downtown Columbus, Ohio. The folks at Tm Advertising were the brains behind this traffic-stopper, and it’s also worth noting that the paint company “ad” alongside was actually for a fake company and also part of the Nationwide campaign.
