These are really great ideas. I like the solar powered backpack (cause I'm a nerd) and the luggage set. When I graduate I am going to travel!

about the gym membership, if it's a high school graduate going to college; it's very likely that they will have a gym on campus that is covered in their student fees (ie. they can go for "free"), and they probably won't go to that one anyways... do some research before spending the money.

I like #6, the gym membership. Considering the weight gain experienced by many college students eating dorm food, it is a very practical gift that keeps giving.

These are very unique ideas! Love the solar-powered backpack and the passport renewal...simple but very forward-thinking. A good way to make your gift memorable, but remain within a budget is to personalize a simple gift - like personalized stationery. And you could personalize with anything really, not just their name. Funny or inspirational quotes work well.

If you are a high school graduate heading off to college in the fall, you might consider getting a loft bed for your dorm room. Do a Google search for “college loft bed” to find a list of companies selling loft beds for college students.

Okay, it's been a long time since I was a graduate...but I have to say that Grill/Cooler thing is an awesome gift for anybody! Time to start dropping hints to my wife, it's getting close to football season. =)
