A golfing buddy of mine sent me this link to CNN's "2003 Global Influentials." Lots of talk in it about CEOs, and how people get to that spot. What I really like is this comment at the end, about who is usually most successful at the top.
"They all have a passion to achieve," Holstein said of the chief executives who thrive most. "It's not just about getting rich. They like the idea of building companies, of winning in the marketplace, and of building wealth for everybody. They like it, and they're good at it."
Exactly. For a young guy like me, business is a sport. I couldn't play pro basketball (my first career choice), but this is where I can compete. It is every bit as exciting and strategy filled as a sporting event. I guess I think of this blog as part of my "training."
