These are all average paychecks now. This MLB offseason has been a joke – putting 7 players with $100 million contracts. This website Spotrac (http://www.spotrac.com) shows the breakdown of each player contract and salary by year. Pretty sad.

Correct me if I’m wrong,
American football contract value is basically the salary of the player per year times how many year the contract is..
while in soccer, there are two thing in contract value.. one is the contract of salary of the player and transfer fee contract…

Maybe the reason this article does not include soccer player because it definitely will dominate the top 25 most expensive sport player…

to Chugboat, please don’t pay any attention to the ignorant Guille…not all Americans feel that way about football (soccer). I quite enjoy watchin Premiership matches when they are on tv and I also like watch American Football as well. Every sport has their own nuances that must be understood before passing judgement. I agree with most ppl here that this list is pretty biased based on the player listings provided. The Beckham deal was probably the most expensive at the time, but Ronaldo’s is even more outrageous (if I recall correctly that is). Some of these Premiership guys earn in half a month what some of these ball players (like that megadouche Manny Ramierz) earn in a year, ant its not fair to not give them the proper recognition.
