"Yet for two thousand years, religion has been upheld as the ultimate solution to reign in the sinners and strays among us."

Dude, that's some seriously sloppy research.

Religion been part of human society since society developed. Tribes living in 9130 BC built temples. Christianity (2k years old) is a relatively new one, but it's not unique, especially in being concerned with "sin".

Author, thank you for the great article.
Now I also want to make money on people's' fears. Just have to choose one.
What would you advise?

Perhaps in many of these instances are fears are somewhat justified... it appears that some exploit these fears to their advantage.

Great article but your statement about the pharmaceutical industry is quite wrong. The amount of money Put into advertising is noting by comparison to the R&D cost. On average to get one drug from the lab to the shelf it costs 803 million dollars and 10-15 years worth of time and testing meaning that when they can finally sell their product they have 5 years of there patient to make up all of the money they sunk into developing the drug. So I can't blame them for trying to re-market a existing drug formulation to make a little more money off of it.

Quite Comprehensive and informative. Great points. I am glad you included religion, the media, and insurance industry in this list. Because I think they are one of the greatest culprits.

What an accurate list! Although I'm surprised that security firms would be ranked so low on it, especially in this day and age of hyper-sensitivity and how everything has to be secure!
