Too bad the author didn't write something less self serving like "25 things everyone could do to help Obama succeed".

But, no the writer only has the insight to suggest empty ideas and to imply that these "25 things.." have some sort of high moral authority.

I have no idea why you people are not on your knees thanking some god that McCain was not elected president thus avoiding 4 more years of another Bush-like government.

Stop complaining about petty personal dislikes (end the department of education, give your personal power, etc) and get behind the new president your encouragement and help, if possible.

Try to understand that the world doesn't revolve around your self-centered desires. You are not the only person in the world.

It's a bad idea to give your personal power away to any one to begin with. Obama can't fix anything, the people need to take responsibility and start fixing things themselves. Have the people been so blind in fear and ignorance for so long in America (the world, really) that they forgot that the government is OUR bitch?

Puppet-Bush creates the chaos and Puppet-Obama is supposed to make everything better... wake up... it's a huge farce. It's not hard to manipulate a man made substitute reality of politics, economics, and other crap that doesn't exist, once you make everyone believe that shiny metals and pebbles, paper, plastic cards, and digits on some bank's computer screen mean anything. How primitive is that? Are you people a bunch of cavemen fighting over the shiny rock, or something? That's all I see.. a bunch of people running around, chasing numbers and going nuts over things that don't even exist. I hope it all collapses, then one will realize it wasn't even real and you didn't even need it.

Do you really think all this chaos is by accident? It's kinda hard to manipulate harmony, but it works well in chaos. Just take a look out of your window, does any of that look right? It's created very intelligently.

For example...
Problem:
Arabic cave-dwellers attacked us and are trying to take ALL OF AMERICA'S FREEDOMS AWAY AND STEAL EVERYONE'S SOUL! OMFG! Everyone snaps and loses it out of fear and anger. And so...
The Solution: The government confirms to America that, yes indeed, primitive middle-eastern people can, in fact, ruin everyone's life in America. So they declare the War on Terror - not terrorism, mind you, but terror (a psychological state of mind). We then kill well over a million Afghan and Iraqi civilians to try to kill a group of 'terrorists' and capture one man.

First of all, that's not a war, that's fucking genocide. Most importantly, no way is that entire scenario sensible in a sane society.

Then, all of this slew of shit then begins to pour out of all this well organized chaos, and that's the perfect time to start implementing bogus laws, governmental departments etc. that actually is taking your freedom away, because you're acting of fear and Big Brother is only too happy to make all that 'terror' go away into tricking all of you into building your own prison. Obama is just another puppet to help be the public face to put all of this into place.

Obama doesn't give a shit about any of you. He's happy that he has a legacy as the first black president of the 'free world' and will probably be talked about in history books for more than several decades. But wait, do you hear that? Sounds like more stupidity to me. We're supposed to be patting ourselves on that back because it looks like America got over racism? Something as mere as skin pigmentation? PLEASE, that's FUCKING INSULTING to anyone of respectable intelligence. If that was a problem that took America over 200 hundred years to get over (which America hasn't btw), then good luck fixing those 'problems' on that list - you can't something that doesn't exist. In reality, the only person patting the American people (and the world) on their backs is Big Brother burping you, telling you to go to sleep that they have everything in control for you.

Unfortunately, people are too ignorant to begin to know how to do such things as control their own lives. But, for the love of god, please prove me wrong. Stop being fearful, apathetic, 'smiling depressants' that look at themselves as 'poor-littles-me's' in this world. SNAP OUT OF IT. There isn't anything wrong with you or the world. That's mask and that man man world is a stage, an illusion, a trick, being created by your help through fear.

If you should be mad about anything, it's about what's being done to you, and not 'randomly happening' to you.

If there is any truth on this blog about anything that matters, it was my comment.

Ya there's quite a few bad things mixed in with the good ones. Iran is not a threat to us, they are a threat to Israel. Not our problem. But Israel is a huge part of the Obama administration so I don't expect him to do anything since he's a puppet for them.

It would be better for him to end the department of education so college prices will drop to something reasonable. Right now colleges can ask for as much money as they want because they know the government pays it up front.

A lot of these are good points but they skim past some major problems that have caused the current econmoic crisis. Top economists are discussing the potential for the recession to be as bad as the great depression - the Great Depression lasted 10 years!

After denying this recession would ever happen, even when many people pointed out, including members of the government and the Fed, the Federal Reserve stance was that a recession would never happen. Now they have admitted a recession that will last just 14 months. But given their past hugely over-positive outlook who can beleive that it will just be 14 months.

While this recession roles on it will just increase the welth divide as the poor get poorer and the rich get richer as they get assets such as foreclosed homes at hugely discounted prices.

The route of all this is current monetary policy yet not a single word about monetary policy has been mentioned by Obama, nor has it been mentioned in this article, and it is not mentioned very much in mainstream media.

At the same time Obama has already taken on a banker as his Cheif of Staff and the options for treasury secretary are almost all very rich bankers with a history of not serving the interest of the wider population.

Obama's answer to the current crisis is to borrow more money to allow for tax cuts and to stimulate bank lending again. That essentially means printing more money which devalues the dollar and also encourages the current system to continue, even though the current system failed us.

For me the main priorities are:
- Governemt Transparency so we know what is being spent, what the government is doing and how the money system works so that it becomes general knowledge.

- Saving Internet Freedom. Current government is trying to control the governemtn while Obama beleives in net neutrality. The internet has the most power to spread information that is not restricted to the topics of mainstream media and can allow free exchange of information. Unless people are properly educated and informed they cannot make good decisions about the actions of their government and society as a whole. People remain unaware of a lot of what goes on. The free internet is a MUST to get people better informed of the world around them.

- To remove bankers and other members of government that have a huge conflict of interest and can influence government for their own profit. While Obama may talk about shaking up the government if he replaces it with the same conflict of interest the monetary system will not get much better.

Unfortunately, you mix many good ideas with several bad ones in your piece.

For example, your number 12 is a bad one - Ensure that Iran does not develop or use a nuclear weapon. Iran may be a threat to Israel but not to the US. Beating this drum only encourages the neocon/Israel first supporters to continue their desire for more wars. This is the same sort of wrong-headed thinking (confusing Israeli interests with those of the US) that led us to invade Iraq.

Number 12 is in direct conflict with your number 11 - Restore America’s tarnished reputation in the eyes of the world. If you really want number 11 to happen, then support a US foreign policy that does not hand out only ultimatums which lead to war (ie - see number 11).

I really wonder about your motivation for writing this article since number 11 seems so out of sync with the rest of your points.
