The Big Money by Rush should be on here. It actually talks about money in life as a problem, being a good and bad thing "Big money goes around the World...Big Money got no soul" Much more significant lyrics than most of these songs.

Re: Can't Buy Me Love. Sir Paul once said (and I'm paraphrasing) "People can draw any connections they want with our songs. But when they say 'Can't Buy Me Love' is about prostitution, I draw the line." So, don't say it.

I'm doing a book called "Start Up or Shut UP" for new entrepreneurs.
Looking for the right song describing start up mentality kinda like Whack A Moles at Chuck E Cheese :)

The one I may use is Porter Wagner's 50's hit, "Satisified Mind: Lyrics:

how many times have you heard someone say
if i had his money i'd do things my way
little they know its so hard to find
one rich man in ten with a satisfied mind

Sorry, I've gotten all into this now! Here are a couple of video links to check out some songs mentioned. I chose 3 different musical genres, 3 great $ songs. Please explore & enjoy them. Musical knowledge rules!

-"Po' Folks" by Bill Anderson. Very Funny!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0p_W6JnFK0

- "Common People" by Pulp. Great, witty, biting lyrics. The video on this link is Closed Captioned with the lyrics. To turn on the captions, click the little 'CC' symbol in the lower right-hand corner of the video screen as it plays
 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43TEYygHT_E

-"Money (That's What I Want)" by The Flying Lizards
truly original cover version of a classic Motown song

OMG! What about

-"Give Me Some Money" from the "This Is Spinal Tap" record/movie soundtrack (brilliant!)

- "Rich Girl" by Hall & Oates

- "It's Only Money" by Thin Lizzy

- "Dirty Deeds (Done Dirt Cheap)" by AC/DC

- "Coin-Operated Boy" by The Dresden Dolls

- "Pennies From Heaven" by Frank Sinatra

- "Cash on the Barrel Head" by Gram Parsons/Emmylou Harris

- "Common People" by Pulp
Seriously, one of the best songs about the difference between the rich & the working class, and how people with $ can never truly sympathize. The lyrics are witty, quite profound, and very British. And the song rocks, too! Check it out on YouTube if you haven't heard this song...

- "We're In The Money" by Ginger Rogers, Bugs Bunny, etc.
It was a ironic song, written during the Great Depression, and it's wonderful! Sample Lyrics:
"We're in the money the skies are sunny, We got a lot of what it takes to get along/ We never see the headlines or breadlines these days/ And when we see the Landlord, we can Look That Guy Right in the Eye"
I love that line because when I lived in the same apartment building as my landlord, I remember not being able to leave one day because he was painting outside the building and I was avoiding him because I didn't have the rent paid yet. Ahem! Good times...lol
