67 Days of Smiles: Another Social Media Dream Job

The Orlando tourism bureau is looking for a couple to fill its 67 Days of Smiles job, a new position that pays $25,000 cash, offers a free condo and rental car for 67 days, and gives free admission to all Orlando attractions. Central Florida 13 News reports:

The local tourism bureau kicks off its Orlando Makes Me Smile marketing campaign. Tourism officials have calculated it will take 67 eight hour days to experience all of the area’s attractions.

If you have what it takes to handle 67 days of smiles in the sun at Orlando’s theme parks and other attractions then this is for you. The search begins today for a couple that can also handle a video camera and is blogging and twitter savvy.

The 67 days will begin in late Aug. 26 and end Nov. 2.

The deadline to apply is June 30.

The application
requires “great smiles” and the willingness to be in front of a camera while engaging in various adventures. It sounds a lot like Australia’s recent “Best Job in the World,” where applicants lived on an island in the Great Barrier Reef and got paid to blog/video record their experience.

But does this model actually work? The application process garners publicity, sure, but who actually follows the winners once they’ve started working?
