Adele’s ‘Hello’ Just Made Digital Download History

Adele Hit Single

British pop star Adele dropped her new single “Hello” last week and in just seven days it made history.

“Hello” not only debuted at no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, it became the first single to rack up one million paid downloads in the United States during its first week of release.

The song was released on October 23 and was downloaded 1.11 million in the first week, according to Billboard.

Adele’s previous album “21” was the top U.S. seller in both 2011 and 2012.

“Hello” also set a record on Vevo for the most views in a single day. The video has been viewed more than 200 million times.

Adele will drop more music on November 20 when her full album “25” debuts.
