Forbes has the annual list of the richest of the rich. There are plenty of interesting articles in the section, including a poll showing that an overwhelming number (of Forbes readers, anyway) would rather be a billionaire than a pro-athlete. I would hate to deal with the fame that pro-athletes have, but I think I'd prefer playing basketball for a decent living over being a billionaire. Of course, with a billion dollars I could buy a team and let myself start!
