Welcome to the "Carnival of Entrepreneurship." Below you will find the seven best entries of the week. There were lots of good ones, so it was close, but I think you will enjoy the posts I chose. If you have questions, comments, or want to be a host, check out the CoE homepage. Now on with the show!
1. Leverage Your Effort has a good post about getting into business. Should you start a business, buy a business, consider a franchise? It all depends. Read the post to see the pros and cons of each approach and then make your own decision.
2. Matt Winn, the VC analyst that runs Punctuative writes about rethinking disruptive technology. He relates technological innovation to the biological concept of "puncutated equilibrium," and wonders how the accelerating pace of innovation will affect punctuative events. Steven Jay Gould would be proud.
3. Ben at IGotNewsForYou encourages you to take a step out. Read between the lines and you will get a good lesson – that setbacks and failures are ok and that entrepreneurship is about more than being rich. Sometimes you should just enjoy the ride.
4. Everyday Entrepreneurs lists the top 10 reasons to become an entrepreneur. I would list a slightly different 10, but check it out and make your own call. Pay special attention to point #2, because successful entrepreneurs are the ones that usually do it for reasons other than just fame and fortune.
5. Jim Logan discusses the sales process and notes that "coffee is for closers" is BS. Rewarding closed sales may not be the best way to motivate and incentivize your sales force.
6. OnStartups discusses the problem of finding an ideal co-founder. It's tough enough to find someone that likes and supports your idea, let alone someone that has the same vision and is willing to help you execute it.
7. Best post of the week goes to Fred Wilson of Union Square Ventures for his revelation that the best way to raise money is to ask for advice. He adds that the best way to get advice is to ask for money. Interesting, and a bit counterintuitive, but it makes sense.
Next week's host will be Escape From Cubicle Nation, so be sure to stop by.

I’m glad you enjoyed my article on “stepping out”…I think I need to step out and go on vacation, that counts as regrouping and benefiting your business right?
