Some blogs truly define today’s business voice. These blogs represent a healthy mixture of independent and mainstream voices, prominent academics and small business owners with equally strong opinions.

We compiled a completely biased sampling of our 50 favorite blogs, sorted by category. The categories are neither based on anything official nor are representations within them equal. For example, we have included a ridiculous number of finance and investing blogs, an industry where coverage truly stood out this year. It is possible that we have forgotten other categories.

However smattered the designations on this list, rest assured that every single one of these blogs is worth reading. If you find something missing, or want to show off your own blog, we encourage you to comment.

Here they are, categorically sorted, and alphabetically ordered:

I get a lot of emails. Many are complementary, many ask questions or offer a comment that someone didn't want to leave in public, and occasionally I get one where someone really doesn't care for what I've written. But in 2 years and 7 months of blogging and emails, this has to be the absolute coolest thing I have ever received.

I am a big fan of your site. I am currently a first year MBA student at (removed), and I think I am getting more from your site than I am from my MBA. I sent your post about management being like math to my father. My father is pretty close friends with Charlie Munger, and he decided to forward along your post to Mr. Munger. Mr. Munger absolutely loved it. He sent a copy of the post to Warren Buffett and his entire family. Please keep up the great work.

Needless to say, Charlie Munger's witty comments have made me smile time and time again, so I'm glad I could do the same. And I've sent a tuition bill to the guy that sent me the email.

If you missed the post he was referring to, it is here.
