A good minister may not always give you want you need or want; rather trying to challenge the Holy Spirit to express the connection and awareness and love for God is a little more than business. Could there be some confusion with Economics of Religion and Economics of Spirit? Rick Warren might have been able to accomplish what he has because of his attention deficit disorder...though I would wonder how many and at what costs have people succumbed to not know the difference between right and wrong. A lot of economies may have been lost.
Peace & Blessings!

> Peter Drucker said that businesses don't exist to reform their customers.

In your experience, do modern churches reform their customers? I don't think so!

Thankfully we have a separation of Church and State in the U.S.

Back when the American colonies were first formed, not only did the churches receive State funds, but the colonists were actually forced to attend church. Failure to go to church resulted in severe punishments.

The separation of Church and State not only made the Churches compete for money, but also for members as people were no longer forced to attend.

//Peter Drucker said that businesses don't exist to reform their customers. I wonder if Willow Creek might change his mind about that//

That would be kind of difficult since he passed away back in Nov ;)
