Excellent post. I have to say I really learned a lot about myself and how emotional I really am. At the same time, I'm one of those who question themselves and then get trapped into a series of questions about questioning itself. And frankly, this is the first time I've ever experienced someone explaining that whole bungling thing so clearly!

Great post. The challenges seems to be to always live on the edge. Stay informed and risk adverse yet surround yourself with "the crazies" as Tom Peters used to always recommend. It is very challenging when you recognize cognitive bias's in someone you work for without running up against them in some type of confrontation. I think that's the real value of working at a place like Intel that has a culture of idea hashing without anybody taking it personal.

Good post.

Cheers.

- Richard

The approach I use in deciding between options, is to try as best I can to imagine the possible outcomes (consequences) of each option and base my decision on them. This may sound obvious but I think many of us would be surprised at how often we don't thoroughly do this in our decision making.
