As long as one is willing to take the time to navigate proper group settings you shouldn't think twice about "friending" your boss or even a potential client. If you need a place to vent and/or are worried about your humor being perceived the wrong way then just create updates that only certain groups of peers can see. Mashable is a great resource, but how about the facebook blog or user wiki? Facebook has so many different privacy settings that there is no reason to have multiple accounts.
