I also tried searching similar keywords/phrases in both Cuil and Google; I found more relevant results on Google. For example, I tried to search my hometown name; cuil was giving repeated info on finding classmates and teaching english, send flowers links as output, etc. None were useful. Same query in Google gave me map, temperature, time, other blogs, etc.
I also tried other keywords, but I felt that cuil is serving me advertised sites more than it should (google has separate section on right hand side for sponsoered links).
Cuil might be good but I think they have to refine/tweak their algorithm to make me use their search engine at this point. Anyway, good luck to Cuil and keep it up Google.

Apparently Cuil just pulls photos that "match" pages to fill in it's gaps.

I share my name with the singer, and when I find myself on Cuil it has his picture, and some hits for him have mine.
