Dan Quayle Thinks Donald Trump Could Win The Nomination

Former Vice President Dan Quayle thinks Donald Trump could win the GOP nomination in 2016.

“I think people are going to take him a lot more seriously than they have in the past… He’s in, and he’s going to be around for a long time,” Quayle told FOX Business Network’s Neil Cavuto.

The former vice president, who was in office under George H.W. Bush during the Gulf War, says he believe national security will become a more important issue or topic in future presidential debates.

Quayle also took a moment to talk about what it will take to defeat the terrorist group ISIS.

“The way you’re going to resolve this is to get the Sunni tribes on your side, he said. “Just having airstrikes… is not going to do it. You’re going to have to go in and they’re going to have to trust you. Therefore, you’re going to have to have Sunni soldiers, Sunni special forces…”

“This president [Obama] is going to be doing very little. He’s not going to change his strategy. He just wants to basically get out of town. It will be a minimal effort on his part and then turn it over to the next president,” Quayle added.

“He is not going to make any kind of changes. This is not part of his game plan. His game plan was to extricate America from wars, and now he has an organization that’s essentially declared war on Western civilization.”

While he commented on Donald Trump winning the GOP nomination in the primaries, he didn’t speak to whether or not the billionaire turned politician can defeat Hillary Clinton or any other democrat candidate.
