Deflation in Europe and America

I thought the general consensus was that deflation in the U.S. over the next year or two is very unlikely. But this article still expresses some concern. Deflation makes existing debt more difficult to pay off. With the huge debt loads of the average American, deflation would be a crushing blow. Let's hope that can be avoided.
