Donald Trump talks about his ‘regrets’ with Fox’s Megyn Kelly

Donald Trump has campaign regrets

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump recently sat down with Fox News host Megyn Kelly and admitted that he had “regrets” about brutal remarks he made during his campaign.

Trump throughout his campaigning has attacked war hero Senator John McCain, former HP CEO Carly Fiorina, and even Ted Cruz’s wife Heidi and Kelly herself.

Trump wouldn’t say what regrets he had but he told Kelly, “Absolutely I have regrets. I don’t think I want to discuss what they are. I could have done things differently, I could have maybe used different language in a couple of instances. Overall I’m very happy with the outcome.”

Trump admitted that when he’s “wounded” he will “go after people hard.” Trump says his tactic is meant to “unwound myself” from those attacks.

In many of his attacks Trump went after the personal appearance of his opponents and their loved ones, avoiding policy attacks all together.

Trump says his aggression has been a key ingredient in his meteoric rise against Republican rivals.

“If I didn’t conduct myself in the way I’ve done, I don’t think I would have been successful,” said Trump. “If I were soft, if I were presidential. In a way it’s a bad word, because there’s nothing wrong with being presidential.”
