How did I miss Footnoted.org? It is an excellent financial blog that looks at footnotes in company reports. I’ve been looking for a blog like this ever since I read the very excellent book Quality of Earnings several years ago. The book, and Footnoted.org (which are totally unrelated) both focus on how much companies really earn. For those of you that started following the market in the 90s or later, it may surprise you to know that the company earnings announcements are often malarky, because you have been brought up in the era of pro forma, which I think is Latin for manipulated to look good to Wall Street.
I am looking a source that edits footnotes.
