FoxSports1 being sued by veteran sportscaster

FoxSports1 Being Sued

Veteran sportscaster Colleen Dominguez is suing FoxSports1. She claims the network benched her because of her age and gender.

The 54-year-old sportscaster was hired on March 1, 2014, and covered the 2014 NBA playoffs.

In a recent court filing, Dominguez says she has been passed over for younger women or older men, and was not assigned to the 2014 NHL playoffs or last year’s Super Bowl.

In the lawsuit, she claims Holly Sonders who is, “subtantially younger than Dominguez [and] has no experience with the NFL,” was assigned to cover the NFL this season.

The suit, filed in federal court in Los Angeles, is seeking unspecified damages.

Dominguez claims she does not know who is “conspiring” against her. She plans to launch an investigation and name offenders at a later time.

Dominguez worked for NBC and ESPN before she was hired by Fox Sports. She claims the network promised to make her a “key personality of Fox News.”

She also claims that the network denied interviews with pitcher Madison Bumgarner and golfer Rory McIlroy, because it would “muddy the waters” for other reporters.

Fox Sports is not commenting on the lawsuit at this time.
