Germany Misses EU Targets

You won't hear me say this too often, but I agree with Gerhard Schroder on this one. It's fine for the EU to set targets for inflation, defecits, etc., but they can't be dogmatic about it because it could damage the entire EU. Germany is the largest economy in the EU, and is floundering. Schroder is right – he has bigger things to worry about than hitting the 3% defecit target this year.
