Indiegogo CEO Slava Rubin is being replaced by COO Dave Mandelbrot

Indiegogo has a new CEO

Indiegogo co-founder Slava Rubin is stepping down from his CEO role. Rubin will be replaced by COO Dave Mandelbrot.

After 8 years at the helm, Rubin will be taken on the role of Chief Business Officer for the crowdfunding company.

Rubin founded the company in 2008 alongside Danae Ringlemann and Eric Schell and has since seen the company rise in power, hosting over 600,000 crowdfunding campaigns since its inception.

Indiegogo now employees about 100 employees.

Marcus Lo, the former VP of Finance at Metamarkets, was appointed as CFO at Indiegogo this past December.

Rubin is singing Mandelbrot’s praises. In a blog post on LinkedIn he writes:

Dave has done a fantastic job of running the business operationally as part of the leadership team, and is beloved across the company. I couldn’t be more excited about having him lead Indiegogo into the next chapter, and after the applause I heard when we announced it to the team I know that everyone else at Indiegogo feels the same way.

Rubin says he is excited to focus on “innovation and growth —including our already thriving marketplace business, enterprise crowdfunding, as well as new opportunities like equity crowdfunding, China, and strategic partnerships with retailers and manufacturers.”
