Jaguar will unveil the F-type SVR coupe at the Geneva Motor Show in March and it promises to be the company’s second fastest car ever manufactured. The coupe will feature a top speed of 200 miles per hour and will accelerate from zero to 60 MPH in 3.5 seconds.
Jaguar has made one other car that was faster. In the 1990s Jaguar produced the Jaguar XJ220 supercar, which had a top speed of 212 miles per hour. Less than 300 of those vehicles were ever produced. There is no cap currently placed on the F-Type SVR.
The F-Type SVR will be powered by a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine specially tuned to develop up to 575 horsepower.
It will be faster than the company’s 550 horsepower F-Type R, currently its most powerful version of the car.
The vehicle will feature an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The car will also be available as a convertible, which will have a top speed of 195 miles per hour.
To help keep the F-Type SVR on the ground, it features several new aerodynamic features, including a front bumper that has been extended outward to push air out around the tires, and an automatically adjustable rear spoiler that kicks in at higher speeds.
The Jaguar F-Type SVR will start at about $126,000 for the coupe and $129,000 for the convertible.
