Jeff Bezos Is Now The 3rd Richest Billionaire In The United States

Jeff Bezos Wealth Increases by 5 billion dollars

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is the third-richest man in the United States according to Forbes.

On Thursday, Amazon shocked investors by announcing a $78 million profit for the third-quarter. Investors immediately rewarded the company by sending stock soaring 10% to an all-time high.

Bezos is the third richest person in the United States and fifth richest in the world according to both Forbes and Bloomberg.

The Amazon founder’s wealth jumped $5 billion overnight to a total valuation of approximately $55 billion.

While Microsoft shares skyrocketed to a 15-year high, Bill Gates is no longer the largest shareholder at the company, that honor belongs to No. 35 on the list, Steve Ballmer.

Zara founder Amancio Ortega overtook Gates to become the world’s richest man, according to the Forbes list. Shares of Zara parent company Inditex are surging, which sent Ortega’s net worth uphill by $2 billion.

Gates is still No. 1 on the Bloomberg list.
