Johnny Depp’s ‘Alice Through The Looking Glass’ is his newest flop at the box office

Johnny Depp Movie Flop - Alice Through The Looking Glass

It has been years since Johnny Depp has scored a big box office win and that losing streak continued this week with a horrible opening for ‘Alice Through the Looking Glass.’

The film opened to $28 million domestically over the weekend, despite a cast that includes Depp, Anne Hathaway, and Mia Wasikowska.

With a budget of $170 million that’s a very slow start. The movie was quickly marred by horrible reviews from critics and moviegoers, scoring a 30% score on the review site Rotten Tomatoes.

It was a bad week for Johnn Depp as a Los Angeles judge ordered the actor to stay away from his estranged wife, Amber Heard, who claimed he has been abusive toward her.

In 2010, Tim Burton’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’ was a big hit, opening with $116 million during its debut weekend. At the time, it was a record-setting opening weekend for a 3-D feature.

James Bobin took over as director for the sequel with Tim Burton helping produce the flop.
