I love to see things like this — managers curbing their egos and looking past short-term gains at the long-term financial health of the company. It is tough to pass up the easy money of going public in order to put your financial house in order, but I think Bertelsmann will be rewarded for a good business decision. Good people in power reminds me of this quote from Lincoln:
"Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power."
