Skimping on food and fuel? Guess you’re not in the $2 million dollar lunch club.

On Friday, the head of a Chinese investment fund submitted a winning bid of $2,110,100 in an annual charity auction on eBay to share a meal with Warren Buffett, more than triple last year’s $650,100 price tag.

Zhao Danyang, general manager of Pure Heart China Growth Investment Fund, and seven friends or family members will be able to eat with Buffett at New York steakhouse Smith & Wollensky. No topic is out of bounds other than individual stock picks.

During past lunches, conversations have included questions about the secrets of Buffett’s success, as well as fundamentally important questions such as this one:

In a past lunch, Buffett asked whether he’d rather be the world’s best lover and have the world think he’s the worst, or be the worst and have it think he’s the best.

How much would you pay to talk about love and money with Warren Buffett?

Surely $2,110,100 is millions not billions.

Too many zeros. It was 2 million…not billion.

    Hi Drea,

I think you missed three zeros. It sure looks like two MILLION to me. Especially if it’s triple the $600K bid of last year.
