McDonald’s Home Delivery

This is an interesting new strategy for McDonald's.

Branches of McDonald's in India are to start delivering meals to customers at their homes

India is the first country where the fast food chain has offered a home delivery service.

It is part of McDonald's strategy to compete with local food chains and international rivals like Pizza Hut and Dominos.

"Our delivery model is based on McDonald's international standards and will therefore differ in some ways from other local chains," Amit Jatia of McDonald's said.

I've always wondered why more fast food places haven't tried this, even if they only offered it for orders of a certain size. Here in Louisville there used to be a steak sandwich place that delivered, but they went out of business. For some reason people still think about home delivery mainly for pizza. Strange.

Just a small comment: McDonald’s has had home delivery in Egypt since 1995, so the content of the article is inaccurate
