Messy Clothes = Higher Sales

I went to Old Navy one day last week and the store was so messy I lasted about 30 seconds and left. I meant to blog about it but got too busy. Now, via Greedy Girl, I found this article about shopping psychology, which included the following blurb:

Shops that obsessively fold up clothes are holding back sales, says Karl. Not only do neat, folded clothes make customers more reluctant to rummage, staff also spend all day tidying up rather than selling clothes.

I guess Old Navy was really trying to boost after-Christmas sales.
