The employer moved any potential threats to property and safety outside the building. The employer may have had reason to believe problems would occur if 2500 people, newly laid off, were inside the building when they got their news.

Heck, I worked at a job where just about every tool and toolbox in the manufacturing floor was stored in employee car trunks as news of a layoff approached. In case the employee was going to be fired a final gift from the company was already locked in their car!</description>
