Powerball swells to $415 million after 18 consecutive drawings

Powerball jackpot increases

The Powerball jackpot has grown to $415 million after 18 consecutive drawings without a big prize winner.

The current prize is now the ninth largest potential payout in US history.

Wednesday’s winning numbers were 30-47-57-66-69 and the Powerball was 3.

If you’d like your chance to win the massive Powerball jackpot the next drawing is Saturday, May 7.

The currently winnings have been growing since March 2, after a 67-year-old man in Florida claimed the previous Powerball jackpot of $291.4 million.

Powerball tickets cost $2 each, and to claim the top prize the winner has to match all six numbers — five white balls and the red Powerball number.

Winning the Powerball is no easy task, the odds are 1 in 2929 million for the six-digit combination.

Guessing the Powerball number by itself, which will earn you $4, has a 1 in 38 chance.

The Powerball numbers selection was increased in 2015 in the hopes of growing the jackpot to numbers that would encourage more participation. Since that time record jackpots have been paid out.
