Prince was reportedly given a ‘save shot’ for a drug overdose days before his death

Prince and drug overdose rumor

Did Prince die from a drug overdose or the effects of an overdose days before his death? TMZ is reporting that the legendary singer was treated for a drug overdose in the days leading up to his death.

Prince’s publicist previously said he was forced to make an emergency landing  in Moline, Illinois, and was taken to a hospital where he was treated for the flu. Sources tell TMZ he was actually given a “save shot” which is typically administered to fight the negative effects of opiate use.

That source says doctors asked Prince to stay for 24 hours for closer monitoring. When he couldn’t find a private room in the hospital he decided to leave.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday. It typically takes one to two weeks for information to be released.

Prince’s publicist is not immediately returning requests for more information at this time.

Regardless of his cause of death, Prince fans will continue to warn their favorite singers in the days and months ahead.
