As a reborn artist and a mother I would like to share my side.
I have had 4 miscarriages, a stillborn baby boy and a little boy who lived for 4 1/2 hours before he passed away,I also have 7 living children. The reborn babies I make and keep will never replace my lost children but they give my empty arms something to hold when I am at my lowest. Not all reborn babies are memorial babies, i sell quiet alot to collectors who are just normal people who collect dolls, some people collect ornaments and other things and some people just collect dolls no big deal.

Better for a woman to own an abomination of a doll than to thoughtlessly bring a child into her life that she cannot hope to take care of.

Although these dolls should still be killed with fire.

I can’t have a baby, I have experienced numerous miscarriages and I’ve ordered a reborn baby, for me it’s something to cuddle with no strings attatched it may help my depression, it may not, but I think it’s worth a try

I admit.. I thought these were creepy the first time I heard about them. I watched a talk show about a woman who collects them last year, when I was pregnant with my son.

Then my son was born early this March and he died 11 hours after he was born.

Suddenly I find myself wanting to get one of these dolls, to look like him, because I am experiencing the empty arms of a woman who has lost her baby. My son’s original due date is this Wednesday. I don’t want to use it to replace him, but to to a memorial to him. He was important to his father & I despite only being alive for such a little time. I have this empty feeling inside me because he is missing. I never thought I’d be the type of woman who would want one of these dolls but I never thought I’d ever experience a pain or loss as devastating as this. If it will help me in my grief, then I am all for it.

I agree with Dr Gia, what is so wrong with women wanting to love and hold a reborn to fill a void she feels? As long as she is not hurting anyone, or trying to influence someone else, then let her live her life.

DP Linsey,MS Lohan, I agree with Dr. Quintoe. What you’re saying is dump the kid and save yourself. Let me tell you something, I was poor when I was young, had FIVE ABORTIONS, and guess what, I’m still poor at 51 years old. Not only that, but now I am totally alone and live in a small studio apartment. I spend most of the holidays ALONE as the only car I can afford is an old jalopy and I wouldn’t trust it to take me 300 miles to visit my family. If I could turn back time, I would take my children over everything in the world. There are times I would like to kill myself over what I have done; killing innocent babies in my womb — but it’s people like you who would rather save a puppy than a child of the human race. It took me years to realize how precious life is and I have converted and have become a Catholic Christian and know in my heart that if I would have kept my children, God would have blessed me. Because of 5 murders, those being of my own children, I feel quite cursed – however, I know that God’s mercy far outreaches the disgusting sins I committed in my youth. I would think about owning a Reborn Baby, but I do not think it would fill that horrible emptiness in my heart or the lonliness I suffer each day of my life. Talk about not wanting to wake up in the morning – killing my children was the worst and most horrific thing any woman could do in her life.
GIVE ME POVERTY ANYTIME! I would rather be poverty stricken and have my children, then to have all the money in the world and be alone. Try being alone and poor friend – maybe you’ll rethink your comment.
God forgive and help people like you who think it nothing to kill a child. What kind of evil are you anyway. I have learned from my own evil, but people like you make the world a very terrible place to live.

I totally disagree with you!!
I know that if you had a child and your child died, you would really want to replace your child.
That’s why they came up with the idea of, “Roborn Baby”. To ‘reborn babies’ who past away.
But now, they reborn babies and just do it for money. But, I don’t have a problem with that! Alot of people can’t have babies and use reborn babies instead!!

You know what’s worse than abortion?

Being poor the rest of your life, with a child. And it’s rather well researched yet rarely sited , having a child before you are able to support YOURSELF is by a huge predominance the # 1 way to be poor for the rest of your life.

It’s a correlation like, the sun in the sky = it is the daytime.

Of course when you’re poor like that, you are a slave. And the Cristian GOP is quite fond of slave women. I mean there’s plenty of em in the bible, so it must be what god wants.

Hate to tell you guys but these “life-like” dolls are not new at all. Real-live looking dolls have been around for quite a number of years. And even before doll makers were able to create totally life like babies, we had dolls that wet their diapers, babbled in “baby talk” and a few that spoke in short phrases and even sentences. In fact, I clearly remember my now 22 year old niece screaming “SHUT UP!!!” to her doll when it kept repeating something like “feed me”, or “burp me” over and over again. We had to put the doll outside!

Anyway, what’s so creepy about it? Little girls like to pretend to be “Mommy”…This is much less creepy to me than the guns, swords and “transformers”-innocent looking creatures that mutate into killing machines with a few carefully planned flicks of the wrist-that we give to our male children. Not to mention the hate-filled, misogynistic, video games for the middle school crowd.

Nevertheless, I totally disagree with Gia Quintoe, the above commenter who must have her PhD in “hate” given the violence of her language. Most women who have regret about having had an abortion that is severe enough to warrant some kind of therapeutic intervention-which is a much smaller percentage than she obviously believes- find comfort in talking to others who share their feelings or discussing them with a professional counselor. A woman who carries around a “pretend” infant for comfort after an abortion is, I fear, probably suffering from a severe psychotic depression and needs Haldol, not a more life-like baby doll.

I do not think they are bad or creepy at all; especially when you think of the millions of women who’ve had abortions only to realize years later a tremendous feeling of grief associated with mental anguish and suffering due to murdering their own baby by means of abortion. These dolls are therapeutic for many women who because of their own selfishness and/or pressures of our immoral corrupt society, killed their baby and then never again would experience the feeling of maternal love only found in motherhood. With these lifelike dolls, a woman can somehow, if only temporary, fill an emtptiness in her heart which is caused by the loss of a child. You people calling these women nutcases or saying it’s “creepy” are complete ignorant a*holes, and I feel sick to my stomach in that you are so obnoxious, despicable and pompous as to not have compassion for others. You are probably the same people who deliberately run over defenseless small animals and cats on a slow city street; not caring s twit about anything – only about your own pathetic void and worthless lives!
Shame on all you losers who are rather creepy yourself!
