Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google, has joined the board of Apple Computer. The companies haven't previously worked together, yet they are potential competitors. Google has been rumored to be moving into online music, and into hardware. Either one would step on Apple's toes. It's an interesting move and I assume it will lead to some sort of collaborative effort in the near future.

Most executives sign a non-compete clause within their contract so I suspect some kind of collaboration in the future.
