In January, we posted an article titled “Shame On You Old Spice!” which we are now fully retracting because we received information from a source who turned out to be fraudulent. We would like to apologize to Old Spice, their ad agency, and their parent company P&G for our unknowing involvement in spreading erroneous information.
One other note: Upon investigating this story further, I would like to say that we have been thoroughly impressed with the kindness, understanding and helpfulness that Old Spice has displayed in helping us get to the bottom of it.
Moral of the story: we’ll no longer jump into stories that exploit incorrect perceptions, and carefully confirm our source information before taking stories public.
