I buy about 4 pairs of shoes a year – 3 pairs of running shoes and a pair of tennis shoes. I buy a pair of dress shoes about once every 3 years. So I don't think I'm the target market for the new website ShoeTube.tv. The site is a video and social networking play for people who love shoes. It makes sense that, if you can attract the top couple percent of shoe lovers, you should be able to charge premium CPMs or CPCs to shoe companies. I imagine you must really really really love shoes if you are going to spend much time on a site like that. I suspect one of the coming trends we will see on the web is sites catering to those most passionate about certain topics, because that will be the best way to reach advertisers.
