Snapchat has brought a seasoned IPO specialist onto its board. The move was quietly executed in 2015.

On his personal website, Meresman says he’s a financial expert who “advises CEOs & CFOs on preparing to become a public reporting company, IPO process, operating as a public company, and scaling the company for rapid growth.”
Among his successful IPO guidances are; LinkedIn, Zynga, Riverbed Technology, and Polycom. He previously served as the CFO at chipmaker Cypress Semiconductor during its IPO.
Meresman also serves on the board of directors at LinkedIn and Palo Alto Networks. He joined Snapchat in July 2015, according to his LinkedIn page.
The revelation of his hiring comes on the same day that Snapchat announced a new $1.81 billion round of funding. While no valuation has been given following this new round, it is believed the company could be valued over $20 billion as of Thursday’s round of financing.
Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel has said in the past that Snapchat was looking forward to its IPO, although he gave no specifics.
Among the company’s other board members are Evan Spiegel, co-founder Robert Murphy, venture capitalist Mitch Lasky, Sony Entertainment CEO Michael Lynton, and Cosmopolitan Editor-in-Chief Joanna Coles.
