Starbucks unveils a Cherry Blossom Frappuccino to celebrate Spring

Starbucks Offers New Frap

Starbucks unveiled a Cherry Blossom Frappuccino to celebrate the entrance of Spring. The limited time drink is only available through Sunday, March 20.

The new Frappuccino is a great blend of sweet strawberries and cream, white chocolate sauce, and matcha drizzle. The company explained in a blog post that the new Frappuccino is inspired by the Japanese sakura tradition.

Sakura is the country’s annual cherry blossom festival and is also celebrated in other parts of the world. It is even celebrated in Washington state, where the annual festival is a popular tourist activity. Starbucks explained that cherry blossoms, the national flower of Japan, are a symbol of renewal and simplicity.

Starbucks added, “Families, friends and colleagues gather under sakura trees and enjoy picnics and parties under the delicate pink blossoms.” The tradition dates back more than a thousand years.

The Cherry Blossom Frappucino was first introduced in Japan in 2010 as a way of celebrating Spring. Japanese customers can enjoy the Sakura Blossom & Strawberry Latte and the Sakura Blossom & Strawberry Frappuccino Blended Creme.
