I can't say I had a good exit experience, but it wasn't the disaster so many have reported. My problem was a little different. I had an ACH transfer scheduled for the 5th of each month to cover my mortgage payment (PITI + escrow). When August 5th, 2009 came around, TB&W posted my ACH transfer in the morning, then were shut down at noon. The ACH transfer was never completed and the money never came out of my bank account.

My loan went to CENLAR, who sent me a mysterious letter around November 2009, saying that they knew my August 2009 ACH payment had never been made. But I was to do nothing -- they would tell me what to do when the books had been reconciled. They've never gotten back to me, and the missing August 2009 payment was never made.

In just three weeks it will be two years since TB&W was shut down. I've filed income tax twice with the interest deduction provided by CENLAR, which shows the missing payment as having been made. Go figure. Two other people in the middle-sized company I work for are in the same situation. I have heard that the total figure for the missing money nationwide is around $43 million. Some day, somebody's going to figure it out, and I just hope they don't demand all the money at once!

We're in a rural area, and deposits in the local bank couldn't cover the mortgage demand, so they bought funds from TB&W to make mortgages. There are thousands of areas like ours out there. I get the feeling nobody in Washington even knows people like us exist. Nobody big has paid any attention at all to this giant mess.

Did anyone have a good "exit" experience with TBW? We seemed to be the lucky few - we received our escrow refund (about a month prior to this mess) with no problem, didn't bounce - our last payment posted and credit properly the day before this exploded and our loan transferred with no issued to include the escrow balance. Reading all the comments we feel fortunate we survived what could have been a nightmare but our hearts go out to everyone who has suffered and is still suffering from this mess. Is there not anyone in the govt who cares? I can't believe how Enron received so much attention but this TBW fiasco is so "swept under the rug" and all hush hush since it happened.

I sold my house and paid my mortgage loan off with Taylor Bean Whitaker 5 years ago. I received a phone call on Nov. 19th from them saying that they owed me a refund of $2700.00 that they had been trying to get to me since I paid my loan off. They saidm theyailed me a refund back in April to the old address and it was returned and they have been trying to contact me since. I don't understand why they didn't call when they first got the check returned back to them in April but never the less she said she was sending me out another check that day to my correct address that I gave her. Well here it is Dec 9th and I still don't have that check and when I call the number she gaver me it has been disconnected and when I go to the web and call all numbers I can find for them they all have been disconnected.
I am not sure that I will ever get the check. Who do I contact? where do I get a working number to talk to someone?

My loan was never transferred to another bank. Instead it's being serviced by American Home Mortgage Servicing, Inc. It's like the mortgage company from he** well I thought it was but from all these posts I am going to say they are all pretty much the same. I went round and round with these dumb people as they had my account all screwed up. false late payments generated false late charges took them off, misapplied funds. Fun fun fun all cause TB&W did not put my online payment through. So it was pure stress from August 2009 till April 2010 when i finally got AHMSI straightened out then my renters bailed and things got worse. Giving the dang house back and cutting my losses. No more credit for me sick of the rat race. Cash only!!

Was anyone trying to get a loan modification from TBW on a FHA loan and then in Sept. 2009 their loan is with BOA? Was BOA able to do anything for you such as prinicpal reduction or lower interest rate?

I have called Mr. Kahn many times over the past year. I just called him 2 weeks ago when BofA threaten to foreclose on my house due to the refinanced loan. Oh My! He never called back!

My loan was with TBW and in August my loan was acquired by Bank of America however for some reason I was showing late for my august payment even though I paid TBW. I tried to get this resolved but the feds froze all the funds of TBW I then called Bank of America executive Noaman Khan who immediately understood our concerns and with a couple of days my august payment was posted to my account. Bank of America rocks!!!

I was hoping for more attention brought to this situation. I just talkied to BofA and my TB&W escrow transfered to them with the new loan. BofA still can't get rid of the 1st TB&W loan. I was told that was a Gov't thing. lol Funny it wasn't BofA money that was loaned to me. They aren't out any money. lol
