Don't get the wrong impression, "The Halo Effect..." is not purely an intellectual book, it simply holds up the most popular business books (all of which follow a "rags to riches" story archetype) to close scrutiny and finds them lacking.

The author ultimately concludes success comes down to quality of strategy and execution. Intellect is certainly an asset when it comes to the former and helps with the latter!

I've summarised a few other points made by the book here: http://isthiswisdom.blogspot.com/2007/12/halo-effect.html

Interesting view by the author regarding the halo effect. I believe it will do good to those who have a problem with that area. Thanks for sharing.

It's great that another author shares his perspective about the problem and his suggestions and solutions about it. I believe that the book will be a good source of information about halo effect.

The attempt to develop bad business habbits into good ones is always welcome. Although people have may have different views about it, I think it's good for everyone to read it.

I think we're looking for hope as much or more than comfort. I think books that are positive and provide action steps are always going to be more widely purchased and read (if not applied) than those that are nihlistic. It seems like Halo Effect is aimed more at those with an intellectual bent or interest rather than an action orientation.

Whatever the merits of G2G, you cannot argue that the Halo Effect drives most business books!
