Gum has been enjoyed by the Aztecs and other indigenous populations for centuries before that.

They used the resin from from the rubber tree and added a bit of mint leafs…

It was former Mexican president Santa Anna who introduced this technique to Addams. Who in turn created Addams bubble gum…

One thing that was left out of the Gatorade story is that it was developed at the University of Florida, but by a Florida State Graduate. Another interesting fact.
