The trick is finding out who your real competition is from your perceived competition. A lot of people I encounter keep referring to us as a "web design" company but that is only a part of the services we offer. While our offering appear to be a "one stop shop" (we had that overused term) they are several technologies and offering that we are working on as unique. Those are giving us good speaking opportunities and higher search rankings in those areas. I think about this constantly.
