This week’s jobs explore the myriad strange employment opportunities the UK has to offer. There’s the usual variety of strange adult gigs; add to that the need for child labor, a Latin tutor, and a chauffeur for American diplomats, and you have a well-rounded range of the weird from the isles on the other side of the Atlantic.

1. Great Britain: Kids needed, good compensation

MovingStill requires boys aged under 12 for still photography.

MovingStill is a novel concept that takes still photographs of objects in an animation production style. The camera viewpoint is changed fractionaly every photograph and until the whole object has been covered. MovingStill now wishes to move onto people as their subjects on a trial bases.

Boys under 12 are required, anyone considered. These are legal clothed photos and does not which to depict the boy in any other manner other than the purpose of the art.

The American School in London seeks an experienced Latin Tutor to teach part-time in our Directed Independent Study Language Program for the 2008-2009 academic year only. The role will involve supporting a small group of High School students (14-18 year olds) who have elected to study Latin.

The American Embassy is in search of a customer focused Chauffeur, based at the US Embassy Annex, Croughton, North Hamptonshire.

Your main focus will be transporting US Government travelers to and from various UK destinations. Other duties will also include: driving a large (high gross vehicle) lorry to transport material for US Government flights; acting as courier between the Annex, American Embassy London and other Embassies; monitoring airline flight tables using the internet; planning the most direct and safest transport route using GPS technology; performing general vehicle maintenance.

Skills and Abilities: Essential Good driving skills with a valid driving licence. Good oral communication skills, good interpersonal skills and customer care skills. Flexible working schedule. Valid UK drivers’ license.
