This week imprinted three words in my memory banks: oil, water, and the AP. As in less (supply), more (flooding), and yuck! despicable! vomit! (AP). Luckily, ScienceDaily posted an article about how thinking about the future originated with our great ape ancestors, legitimizing any worry the former three topics created.

Here are my favorite links for the week:

TechCrunch editor Mike Butcher (UK) speaks about AP and blogging.

Dean Baker’s spot calculation on the actual oil production increase offshore drilling might provide (It’s not much).

Capitalist Banter has a piece on states printing their own currencies.

Found on BoingBoing: the 2009 version of Jess Bachman’s Death and Taxes poster is coming out. It details where the government spends every ounce of tax dollars.

Great apes don’t live in the present, either. From ScienceDaily.
