Welch on Leadership

Barry Ritholtz has a good post on Jack Welch's editorial in yesterday's Wall Street Journal. Todd at A Penny For used to work at GE, and added his own comments. Check them out.

Interestingly enough, Welch analyzes the Democratic candidates based on his "four Es" from the article. Lieberman scores lowest, but I think more companies (and government agencies) could use low-key leaders. Lots of people will probably disagree with me on this, but I think there is a difference between energy and extroversion, and you don't need the latter to be a good leader. I would like to see more thoughtful, self-reflective leaders in this world.

UPDATE: David Foster weighs in as well, with two posts on the Welch piece.
