Does Google even have a PR department? They don't need one. They could change the font on the homepage and get a hundred blog posts about it. Think about it – they have done some cool things, but nothing revolutionary (ok, it depends on who you ask) but by consistently tinkering with things, they stay in the news without trying to stay in the news.
