Newspapers needs to go online. Look @ the WSJ for example. I read this paper almost every day, but if I am not able to get my hand on a hard copy, I can easily go online either via pc or smart phone and grab the articles in that fashion. You've made a very strong point, in that newspapers deliver quality content, the only problem is in their method of delivery. Of course, the answer lies in internet integration (what's new..). I'm sure we'll be seeing more papers integrating their services online and finding new innovative ways to deliver us the news through this medium.

"Objective reporting"!?! I haven't seen any of that in years from the corporate news media. It's not just that the standard bearers of the old corporate media must die; they must be replaced by institutions which understand and recommit to objective reporting.

The days of the answer to every question being "the evil Republicans did it" are ending. And the current corporate news structures, in many cases, will not be capable of adapting and will not survive.

"Social Media Cannot Replace Reporting"

That sums it up in a nutshell! While newspapers are changing, they are doing it at a snails pace and might take longer than the checkbook allows!
